EST Energie & Solar Technik GmbH was established in 1997 by Alfred Karner as EST Energie & Solar Technik e.K.. In 2005, it changed to EST Energie & Solar Technik GmbH.

Alfred Karner installed the first PV-system for Siemens AG Germany in 1982 in Egypt as Installation Manager. Until 1996, Mr. Karner had developed numerous installations in the field of Photovoltaic, Hybrid systems, UPS-systems and Diesel Generator Units throughout the world as Project Manager.

In the beginning our main activities were trade of thermal solar systems and Photovoltaic systems in Germany, as well as planning, installation and maintenance of power supply systems world-wide (among other contracts), as subcontractor of Siemens.
Since 1999, EST Energie & Solar Technik is one of the leading German companies in the field of Photovoltaic systems in Germany.
Since 2000, our main activities are in the field of grid-connected Photovoltaic systems in Germany, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Austria and Greece.
Since 2004 EST uses its own design of roof-mounting-systems.

In 2009, EST-America was founded in Florida for activities in the USA market.

In 2009, EST-Energie entered into a joint venture with Gloria Solar International Holding, Inc. in order to distribute Gloria solar modules in Europe and exclusively in Germany, Austria and Greece, and to develop projects jointly in the European market.
